Beachfront Georgian Guest House with Homemade Breakfasts in Weymouth

Overview & Amenities

Whitecliff Guest House is a family-run Georgian building situated directly on Weymouth's sandy seafront. The property offers bay window rooms with sea views over Weymouth Bay and the Jurassic Coast. Guests have access to a ground-floor fridge with complimentary fresh milk, water, and daily homemade muffins. A comprehensive welcome book in each room provides local recommendations, and flexible check-in/out policies with self-check options are available upon request.

Guest Rooms

All rooms are en-suite and feature flat-screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities, with the exception of the Single Sea View Room which has exclusive use of a separate bathroom. The Top Floor Sea View Room and Attic rooms offer unique character and views of the coastline. Twin attic rooms are available, but note they are not suitable for dogs due to accessibility by stairs.

Dining & Breakfast

Breakfast is included and served in a sea-facing Breakfast Room with a choice of Full English Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, or vegetarian options. All ingredients are locally sourced, with homemade granola and compote available daily. Freshly baked goods such as banana muffins are offered to guests in the reception area throughout the day.

Location & Nearby Attractions

The guest house is 5 minutes on foot from Weymouth Rail Station and a 15-minute walk along the promenade to Weymouth Harbour and town centre. The Jurassic Coast, including Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, is accessible via the South West Coast Path that passes directly by the property. The Sealife Centre is approximately a 10-minute walk away, and free on-street parking is available just outside between 5pm and 10am.

Pet-Friendly Policies

Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome upon request at an additional cost, with a fridge provided on the ground floor for fresh water and milk for pets. The Twin Attic Room is not suitable for dogs, but other sea-view rooms can accommodate them. The beach is directly across the road, offering easy access for morning and evening walks.

“From its spot near Weymouth Beach, this family-run guesthouse strikes me as a particularly strong choice for families and pet owners. I was impressed by the sound of the home-baked goods and the individual approach to breakfast. The hosts' local knowledge, alongside the sea views from many rooms, definitely makes this a place to settle in and feel at home.”

Whitecliff Guest House enjoys a fantastic location right across from the beach and within a short, pleasant walk of Weymouth's attractions, including the dog-friendly beach and Greenhill Gardens. Guests often highlight the bright and spacious rooms, some offering lovely sea views, and appreciate the thoughtful touches like complimentary fresh milk, water, and even homemade muffins. the location was perfect with the beach just opposite. i liked the milk and water being available in the fridge downstairs. it was better than having bottles everywhere in the room. homemade muffins left each day were a nice touch too.

A Mixed Experience

tasty breakfast variety of choice noisy main road single glazing
The breakfast had a variety of choices and fast service.
I found the location to be less than ideal because rear room overlooked a courtyard and noisy main road, I could barely sleep. the single glazing didn't help at all with the noise levels. It was quite bothersome.
